The Arabic edition of the book Dass wir alle Kinder Abrahams sind…: Helmut Schmidt begegnet Anwar as-Sadat. Ein Religionsgespräch auf dem Nil by Karl-Josef Kuschel is published under the title “Sadat .. Schmidt: The Dialogue of Crises”, coinciding with the anniversary of the glorious October War and the memorial of Sadat’s death during the eighth military parade in celebration of victory.

The book is written by Karl Josef Kuschel, a professor at the Faculty of Catholic Theology at the University of Tübingen and a specialist in the science of interfaith dialogue. And it was translated into Arabic by Dr. Mahmoud Abdullah Al-Nazlawi, a professor of German language and literature at the Faculty of Al-Alsun, Minia University, and a visiting professor at the University of Tübingen, Germany, and Innsbruck, Austria.

The book deals mainly with a meeting between the former German Chancellor Helmut Schmidt and the late Egyptian President Anwar Sadat on a Nile cruise in December 1977, during which this session included a long conversation between the two great politicians about religion and its role.

It is noteworthy that the German edition of the book was celebrated once it is published at the Egyptian Embassy in Berlin in December 2018, while it was celebrated at the German Embassy in Cairo in February 2019.
