Al Arabi Publishing and Distributing hosts two authors from Wales, England, in cooperation with Cairo International Book Fair and Wales Literature Exchange.
It will celebrate publishing the Arabic translations of their two novels, “Bad ideas” written by Lloyd Markham, and “Golden Orphans written by Gary Raymond.
The two novels are the first ones from Wales that are translated by Al Arabi publishing and distributing.
The two book seminars will be held on Sunday 26th of January, the first one is “Bad Ideas” from 1 pm to 3 pm, in the presence of its writer Lloyd Markham, who will come wearing an orange spacesuit.
The other seminar, “Golden Orphans”, will be held from 5 pm to 7 pm, in the presence of its writer Gary Raymond and the translator Sayed Omar.
Lloyd Markham was born in Johannesburg, South Africa and spent his childhood in Zimbabwe, moving to and settling in Bridgend, South Wales, when he was thirteen. He gained a BA in Creative Writing at Glamorgan, followed by a MPhil. His first novel “Bad Ideas” was published in 2017.
Gray Raymond is a novelist, editor, and cultural anchor. He is one of the founding editors of “Wales” magazine of arts. He is working as an editor since 2014.
